Dr. Mary Ellen Scully
Clinic Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Scully joined Island Animal Hospital full time in 2000, and has been a part of the family ever since.
She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida in 1995, followed by an internship at the University of Pennsylvania.
She took ownership of the practice in early 2022 when Dr. Ochstein decided to hang up his stethoscope, and retire to begin a new adventure.
Her special interests include internal medicine and ultrasound. In her spare time, Dr. Scully enjoys spending time with her cats Gary, Cole, Wink and Tuna and her dog, Minnow on the beach or in the garden.

Dr. Jodi Collins
Veterinarian
Dr. Collins graduated from Oregon State University in 2007 and moved to West Palm Beach in 2012.
Her veterinary interests include dentistry, preventative medicine, and surgery.
She is also a passionate advocate for shelter animals and continues to work with shelter groups.
She enjoys traveling, dancing, and her two rescue dogs, Lulu and Bardet.

Dr. Leeann Ablin
veterinarian & board certified surgeon
Dr. Ablin moved here from the Chicago area and started working at PBVS in October of 2014. She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, interned at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and carried out surgery residency at Tufts/Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston.
We are excited to have her here as a board certified surgeon, certified in canine rehabilitation and acupuncture.
Dr. Ablin has two miniature Dachshunds and a few horses of her own. Working with people and getting to know their pets is what she enjoys most.

Dr. Susan Spilker
Veterinarian
Formerly with Calusa Veterinary Center in Boca Raton, Dr. Spilker, a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, now enjoys working at Island Animal Hospital.
At home she spends time with beloved sons Christopher and Jacob.
They enjoy the company of Jessie the Maltese, Chop the lab mix, Oscar their orange cat, and Thor the Bengal mix; all of which were rescues.

Roy Practice Manager
Roy has been a member of Island Animal Hospital since spring of 2023 as our Practice Manager and has over 16 years of experience doing so. He is a father and a loving dog-dad to his pit bull, Blu.
Roy is best described as an extrovert and a fan of everything Godzilla-related.

Peri Administration
Peri, rescued from the streets of Oman as a blind kitten and brought to the states through a unique Facebook campaign, landed in our lobby in 2012.
After a couple of unsuccessful adoption attempts, due to his medical needs and poor manners, he decided that he would be happy enough to have the entire staff of Island Animal Hospital to serve him.
He has been running the place ever since.

Deena Receptionist
Deena has been a member of Island Animal Hospital since December 2005.
She and her frontline workers take pride in assisting clients with cheerful enthusiasm.
She can be best described as organized and detail oriented.
On her spare time she enjoys bike riding and spending quality time with her little family. Deena is a proud mother to her daughter, Sophia, and her fur baby, Apollo Jack!

Faride Receptionist
Faride was born in Lima, Peru and for as long as she can remember she has always enjoyed being surrounded by animals, especially dogs and cats.
She joined our front desk team in June of 2019. Her hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.
In her free time she loves to be with her family, travel with her husband, and play with her little doggies, Jax and Tiki; a beautiful Dachshund and a cute little Chihuahua. They are her companions throughout the day and no matter how she is feeling they will always put a smile on her face.
Not only does she love animals, Faride has a passion for flowers. Therefore, she is our clinic orchid whisperer.

Meggan Nurse
Meggan has been a part of Island Animal Hospital since March of 2020, working as a veterinary technician and our social media coordinator.
She came to our clinic with multiple years of experience in marine life care and a Bachelor's degree in Biology concentrating in Marine Biology and Zoology.
Meggan also has two dogs, Bluey and Appa, who love to go on adventures with her around Palm Beach Island, including bike rides, paddle boarding, and surfing.

Emily Nurse
Emily started her career working in a nursery for cats and gaining animal care experience since 2020.
She loves all type of animals, especially her two cats that she has raised since they were kittens.
When Emily is not at work she enjoys spending her time in nature and outdoor activities.
She has been a joy to have in our clinic.

Yessica Nurse
Yessica is one of our veterinary technicians coming to us with emergency care experience.
She is a loving pet owner to many species, including a pet bearded dragon! She also loves to travel in her free time!

Jessica, a mom to 3 dogs (maui, cooper, and ziggy), is one of our veterinary technicians who has been working in the industry for over 24 years.
in her free time she loves going to the beach, spending time with friends and family in the keys, and taking care of her beloved pets.

Breanna Nurse
a fully licensed esthetician, breanna, has been working in the vet industry for over 5 years. She loves being able to help pets and their owners get the care they need.
Breanna has two dogs of her own, Buddy and Willace, whom she loves dearly.

Jonnie is one of our veterinary technician assistants and our pharmacy technician.
She has been working with us for over a year and always has a positive attitude.
With a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Jonnie wishes to open her own wildlife sanctuary someday.
Jonnie loves getting out in nature, painting, and hanging out with her two cats, Maui and Arlow!

Jesse has over 15 years of veterinary technician assisting and kennel technician experience.
He has been a part of our clinic for over 6 years and has two cats, Arrow and Zora.
Outside of work Jesse enjoys traveling, comic books, and all things superheroes.

Danny Kennel Technician
Danny joined our team in 2024 and has a sweet pup named lucy.
he came to us with an immense amount of animal care experience. as he not only owns his own farm, but as our kennel technician he has a love for all animals and seeing his own fellow co-workers as extended family.
Outside of the clinic, Danny's favorite things to do are gardening, being creative, and going fishing.
